Mission Statement
 
The mission of the Independence Township Recreation Department is to provide Independence Township residents with comprehensive programs, activities, and facilities that meet the physical, cultural, and social needs of our community. The department offers a full range of programs for residents of all ages.
 
The Recreation Director, with the support of the Mayor and the Township Committee, are dedicated to this mission. While working cohesively, diverse and affordable recreational programs and leisure services will continue to be offered, while promoting citizen involvement and helping to build a strong sense of community.
